Recruiting Roadmap: What Working with Extension Looks Like for Job Seekers
If you have ever considered working with a staffing agency, you may have wondered what the actual recruiting process looks like. While every agency has a different process, we work hard to guarantee that candidates working with Extension have a second-to-none experience during their job search. Here we will take you through every step of the recruiting process, so you know exactly what to expect when you decide to partner with us.
Step 1: Resume
The beginning of Extension’s recruiting process starts with the resume. If you are interested in working with us, you should submit your resume, either via our Apply Now page or by sending it directly to team@extensionrecruiting.com. That will allow our talented recruiters to review it and become familiar with your skills and experiences. On top of that, Extension also offers consults on resumes to help job seekers like you make your resume look as professional as possible.
Step 2: Phone Screen
After reviewing the resume, a recruiter will set up a quick 15-minute phone screen to get to know you further. Having this first conversation is important because it is where we will learn the specifics about what you’re looking for. Here we will find out a quick snapshot of your skills, experience, interests, and what you are looking for in your next job like responsibilities, salary, commute, etc., so make sure to be transparent!
Step 3: Interview with Recruiter
Having a full interview with our recruiters is the chance to have a more detailed conversation about everything discussed during the phone screen. It is important for us to meet with our candidates face to face or over video chat to get a feel of their personality and soft skills. In addition to a matching skillset, personality is so important to many companies, so these interviews help the recruiter find and prepare opportunities that will be a good match.
Step 4: Job Orders Presented
Following the interview, the recruiter will start presenting job opportunities that align with your specific skills and requirements. Recruiters take all factors into consideration including your personal motivation for making a change, salary expectations, commute, company culture fit, and job responsibilities to ensure that the jobs presented match what is exciting and interesting to you! Ultimately, it is 100% up to you to decide where your resume gets sent!
Step 5: Client Submission
Once your recruiter has your permission to send your information, they will officially submit your information to the client. This includes sending all of the information that you provided along with some additional insight about why you are a good match for the position based on the information gathered throughout the interview process. This helps the client get to know you, beyond the resume, and drastically increases your chances of securing an interview.
Step 6: Client Interview
If the client company is interested in moving forward, we’ll get an interview scheduled where you can meet with the client. Every company is different, and the interview process may vary from one interview to multiple interviews, but our recruiters will make sure that you are well-prepared for any situation. Our main goal is to help you secure an offer, so we will help prepare you through every step of the process to make sure that you are comfortable and feeling confident! We are here to help set you up for success and coach you every step of the way!
Step 7: Offer
If the interview process goes well, hopefully, an offer from the client will be presented to us on your behalf and we hope you’ll be excited to accept! At Extension, not only do we want you to get the job, but we want you to receive the offer you deserve so our recruiters will negotiate on your behalf if there is anything that could be improved. This is why transparency during the recruiting process is important so our recruiters can find exactly what you are looking for.
Step 8: Onboarding and Background Screen
Every client is different so the onboarding process can vary from offer to offer. But what doesn’t change is the fact that you will have a dedicated Extension onboarding specialist by your side, walking you through each step. They will be there to answer questions on onboarding paperwork and guide you through any background screen or occupational health requirements. Your recruiter will also be there for you to answer any questions regarding the job itself! Our entire company is invested in your success.
Step 9: Placement and Start
Once all paperwork and onboarding requirements are fulfilled, our recruiters will prepare you for your first day at your new job by providing you with equipment, any necessary information, and by answering any other questions or concerns. We also make sure to follow up with our candidates after starting their position to make sure everything is going well and to offer any help needed.
If you work with Extension, we will make every other staffing agency feel like it’s missing something. We’ve got your back throughout every step of the process and will do the work necessary to find a position you LOVE.
